A hundred years may pass until we have achieved our desired goal; or it may never happen at all. Nevertheless, sometimes we can also dream. Looking into the future, I see such a unity of forces which will bring peace and justice to the world, and I cannot but think that, even if nobody can openly stand for it as of yet, one day those who are yet to come will maybe live to see it . . .

ACTIVITIES / SESSIONS

VI session of Igman Initiative
Bosnia-Herzegovina before New and Old Challenges
March 2, 2003
. Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina

This session was opened by the Citizens’ Forum of Tuzla’s event “Bosnia-Herzegovina before New and Old Challenges.”
The cooperation with the ICTY faced considerable resistance and obstructions, and lacked sincere and organized efforts to win support among the public. Noting this, participants of the sixth session sent a proposal to the parliaments of the Dayton Triangle countries encouraging their members adopt a “Declaration on Full and Unconditional Cooperation with the International Criminal Court in the Hague.”

This session was opened by Jasmin Imamovic, Head of Tuzla Municipality; Miriam Struyh, IKV Foundation, the Netherlands; and the Ambasador Viktor Tkacenko, Deputy Chief of OSCE BiH Mission.

Frequent cases of political violence initiated a discussion on democracy and political violence in the Dayton Triangle. The most prominent public figures were encouraged to raise their voices against political violence. This session was held only ten days before the assassination of Zoran Djindjic, the prime minister of Serbia.
