V session of Igman Initiative
May 31 – June 2, 2002
. Kotor, Montenegro


Participants called for the heads of states and governments of the three countries to meet and establish a permanent dialogue and to improve their cooperation. This initiative was accepted by Mr. Beriz Belkic, the then-President of BiH, who hosted the first summit with the Heads of States in the Dayton Triangle three weeks later .
The session participants concluded that visas between Croatia and the FRY must be abolished immediately. The relevant authorities of the FRY were also requested to change their discriminatory practice toward citizens of BiH Federation, who were not being afforded the same treatment as citizens of the Republika Srpska when entering and staying in the FRY.
This session was opened by Nikola Konjevic, Mayor of Kotor; Rifat Rastoder, Deputy Speaker of the Montenegro Assembly; and Michael Robinson, Head of OSCE Office in Podgorica.

The meeting supported the launch of a trilateral non-governmental initiative for facing the past and rebuilding trust. Additionally, the governments of all three countries were called to take responsibility for putting war criminals on trial and to fully comply with their obligations towards the ICTY.
